The November 5th event in Brazil is rumoured to be the event which will launch the international version of the Droid Turbo, currently thought to be called the Moto Maxx, a phone which turned many heads with its large battery and high-end specs. The Moto Maxx has popped up on Google+ overnight showing off a screen protector with the Moto Maxx name emblazoned across the top.
The specs on the phone according to the screen protector marry up with the specs seen on the Droid Turbo, but would obviously come with more international friendly 3G radios as opposed to the Verizon CDMA radios. According to the screen protector, the phone would carry a 5.2″ QHD (2560×1440) resolution display, 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (we expect 805 as per the Droid Turbo), 64GB Storage, 21MP camera and 3,900mAh battery with the Turbo Charging we’ve all lusted after.
As you can see, the phone has the kevlar back that was shown off on at least one version of the Droid Turbo, but there may be the smoother poly-carbonate back as well. The back appears to have the now trademark Moto Dimple in the rear of the phone.
The front of the phone is where some controversy will lie – at least for some Android fans, with the divisive issue of capacitive vs soft buttons still a contentious issue. It appears that the Moto Maxx will come with capcacitive buttons, which may turn some people off the phone, but it is what it is.
The event which announces the Moto Maxx, is expected in Brazil on the 5th of November, which should be some time on the 6th of November here. We’ll definitely be following up with Motorola Australia about whatever phone is released, so stay tuned.
Anyone know if this will work in aus on optus 4g network yet???
I really hope we get this device.
This phone will make me think. It’s a no brainer except those capacitive buttons, but it seems that’s something I’d consider compromising on. Qi charging smaller than 5.5″, 32gb storage or more are all table stakes for me but I can’t decide about those buttons.
On my not 8 they drive me nuts I or my daughter constantly touch them which is very annoying. I’m truly torn. Why can’t they put the Moto turbo in a moto x case with all of the turbo specs?
same, its really swaying me away from a nexus 6, but if I do buy from motorola, i hope there’s actually support in Australia – motorola’s last facebook & twitter post was July 2013 ! What’s with that, does the company actually give a shit, or did they just forget their login details ?
I don’t know which Motorola I want to buy dammit! O_o
