After officially launching this morning, the Sony Xperia Z2 can now be ordered from Optus, with Vodafone expecting stock on the 7th of May. But if you don’t care for a plan, you can head on over to the Sony website where the phone is now on-sale.
You get your choice of Black or White and will pay $759.00 + Delivery, which the Sony site is letting me know will cost me an additional $9.95. It doesn’t include any fancy Adidas sports shoes like you’ll get by purchasing on a plan with Optus, but if you’re wanting just the phone, this is a good way to do it.
For comparison, the Xperia Z2 is selling on Kogan for $859(but is sold out) and on Mobicity for $899.95 – both with an additional delivery charge on top. Carriers have not yet made their outright prices known, but $759 is a pretty decent price for a phone that really is quite comparable to the other flagships on the market.
I got mine from an Optus store in Brissy today! Very happy with it so far.
Any word on Virgin Mobile?
Nothing Zach, Virgin wasn’t on the list of carriers listed as launch partners but that’s not to say they won’t get it eventually.
I just bought one from Sony’s store, my wife has the Z1 and I have been impressed with that, so I can only assume it will be an improvement of what is a fantastic phone.
