With the Sony Xperia Z2 launching in a lot of territories only at the beginning of May, it appears that Sony aren’t resting on their laurels, continuing with what appears to be a six month refresh cycle of their flagship phones. Pictures of what is being reported as the front-panel of the Sony Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact have been shown off on Chinese site Digi-Wo.
According to XperiaBlog, they see no evidence of change to the OmniBalance design on these new panels. XperiaBlog also believe that the Z3 and Z3 Compact will be announced at the IFA trade fair in Germany in September. No specs are available yet, but be prepared for them to appear as we approach IFA.
Thoughts? Does Sony need to freshen up the look of their Xperia Z line-up or is the continuity of design a good thing?
Wow, if true, even Samsung changes more on their Galaxy S range than this. I guess the thing about Sony releasing flagships in 6months seems to be true
Go figure. My Z2 just arrived this morning -_-
Don’t worry about it. I have a Z2 and it’s amazing. You won’t regret it. And it’ll get updates for a while to come.
Thanks dude. Definitely enjoying the aesthetics a lot more. Migrating data and settings isn’t as quick as going from the S3 to the S4 (via Kies), but apps like Helium (Carbon), Airdroid, and whatnot are a godsend
I for one didn’t use Kies myself because I thought it was a terrible proprietary program. All I had to do was sync my contacts through Google and I was ready to go. My only gripe with it is the mass amount of bloat. Although Samsung is just as guilty.
Z2 looks MUCH better than this. Congratulations, Z2 should be great, I’m thinking of buying one, especially after these pics.
