LG recently announced that their charming character based phones called the AKA series would be heading outside of their home market. While LG Australia hasn’t advised if they’ll arrive in Australia officially, Expansys has taken the opportunity to grab some and make them available for purchase.
The phones come in four different colours and they’re named based on the colour, there’s:
Eggy in yellow who falls frequently in love, the ever-so-impulsive Wooky in white, the soft-hearted and music-loving Soul in navy and Yo-Yo in pink
Each phone also includes an ‘art toy figurine’ to help you to personalise the phone. You use the camera on the phone to shoot a 3D image of the toy and the toy is then animated on your phone. Once your figure is on your phone it will ‘react to every touch, dance, and scratch its head while waiting for you to take pictures with it’.
There’s more to the personality mode of the phone though, the AKA software includes some neat little goodies :
The MASK is on and AKA is alseep. If you want to wake up AKA, simply tap the exposed upper screen twice. You will see friendly eyes greeting you over the MASK.
Shaking
Shake AKA while the MASK is on and see what happens. Its eyes jiggle as if it feels dizzy.
Hide & Seek
You can interact and play with AKA when the MASK is on. Cover AKA’s eyes shortly and it will blink its eyes in funny ways.
Earphones On
When you plug in your earphones while the MASK is on, AKA also puts on its earphones. Share your music with AKA and it will listen with you.
Battery Charging
When you are charging AKA, its eyes will tell you how charged your battery is.
Come in& (Widget)
When you completely pull off the MASK, you will see Eggy, Wooky, Soul or Yoyo’s world on your screen. The world itself is a widget called Come in& which you can click to see three menus, AKA Space, Snapsh-OO-t, and t-oo-n. Each menu provides unique functions or content related to AKA. The fun world of AKA is waiting for you.
