Kogan Agora 6
Kogan has today announced a new Android phone in their line of Agora products, announcing the Kogan Agora 6.

Kogan is focusing on price with the Agora 6, pricing the phone at $179 which means you don’t get all the bells and whistles but you do get some important ones like a microSD Card slot and the phone offers Dual-SIM capability.

Russell Proud, Product Manger at Kogan.com said of the new Agora 6:

We know Aussies want a full feature smartphone without having to spend half a month’s pay. At the same time, we’re hearing people are frustrated with other big brands for locking down their phones and not including features that offer flexibility like dual SIM cards, MicroSD storage, and removable batteries.

Spec wise, the Agora 6 is fairly decent for the price, offering a 5″ 720P resolution IPS display as well as more RAM, better camera and higher resolution screen than similarly priced phones.

Kogan offers a 1 year warranty on the Agora 6, with options to update to a 3 or 5 year warranty for an additional cost.

The Agora 6 is available for purchase from today, through the Kogan website though stock won’t actually leave the warehouse until the 12th of April. The Agora 6 can only be purchased from Kogan so you will of course have to pay the delivery fee, which was about $9, if the Agora 6 sounds like it’s the phone for you, head over and check it out.

does this phone have blue tooth

WAusJackBauer

I HIGHLY recommend this phone to anyone who doesn’t use a phone for high end gaming and isn’t too fussed on having the very best camera. It will do everything you need it to do.

Most ideal for young kids/teens and mums/grandmas/grand dads

I had the Kogan Agora 4G which first came out in 2014 and that was running Android 4.4 and only had 1GB of RAM and it was fine, so this would be even better.

Seriously Kogan deserves more attention.

Does have the play store? I didn’t think they could ship a phone with Google Certification on older versions of Android.

WAusJackBauer

Yes, I had the Kogan Agora 4G so and it had the play store so I see no reason why this one wouldn’t have it.

Apart of the Google certification (to have Play Store) is a requirement around the version of the OS that is allowed on the phone at time of release. I thought it had to be same major version, currently the would require at least Android 6.0 to get certification. As it only has 5.1 I not sure how this works.

The screen shot shows GMail, Chrome and YouTube on the home screen. I think it unlikely that it does not have Playstore. 5.1 is close enough to newest, the world of phones is full of Android 5.1 with promises of a 6 upgrade. You can email Kogan for clarification before purchase. I would also look at an Oppo F1 for $20 more from Optus as a pre-paid as long as you do not mind it being locked to Optus. Great for anyone on Amaysim, Dodo etc etc.

What is B28A? Is it real B28? Is it B28 that supports Telstra 4x? A bit more info from Kogan would be nice. Is it bullshit?

Gregory Eden

After a lot of Google searching there appears to be B28A and B28B, lower and upper bands for Rx and Tx and if it does not support both then it is not compatible with our B28. It could be a typo or marketing hype. Clarification would be a good PR move.
