OPPO F1 Plus
Oppo has announced a new version of their F1 handset overnight, announcing a selfie focused Oppo F1 Plus.

With an all-metal unibody which houses a fingerprint sensor and a respectable 13MP camera on the rear, the F1 already lives up to the Camera and design focused aspirations of the F-series, but it’s the 16MP selfie camera on the front that really draws the attention for the F1 Plus.

Oppo has included the first taste of the new camera technology in the F1 Plus with the selfie cam including new Hi-Light technology. Of the new technology, Oppo says:

The F1 Plus’ 16 MP front-facing Hi-Light Camera has been purpose-built for catching clear, vivid photos in any lighting condition. Paired with the new Selfie Panorama feature, Beautify 4.0 and the front-facing Screen Flash, the Hi-Light Camera will allow users to get the perfect shot on the first snap, anywhere and anytime.

The front-camera also has twice the dynamic range, four times less noise than cameras without the technology.

The Oppo F1 Plus is no slouch when it comes to power either, with Oppo using an Octa-Core Mediatek processor and a massive 4GB of RAM in the phone. There’s also 64GB of on-board storage which is expandable with microSD card. Full specs for the Oppo F1 Plus include:

  • 5.5-inch AMOLED Display
  • MediaTek Helio P10 octa-core, 64-bit processor
  • 4GB RAM
  • 64GB on-board storage expandable up to 128GB
  • 13MP Rear Camera
  • 16MP Front Camera with f/2.0 Hi-light Camera
  • Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth
  • 2,850mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charge
  • Fingerprint recognition
  • 151.8×74.3×6.6mm @ 145 grams

Pricing wise, Oppo has advised the F1 Plus will sell for €389 EUR, or £299 GBP. Unfortunately, the Oppo F1 Plus is aimed at the African, Southeast Asian and European markets, with Oppo advising that the R9 which was announced last month will be the equivalent of the F1 Plus here in Australia. So, if you’re wanting to grab one, it’s off to the grey market with you.
