galaxy note 7 leak

Thanks to an anonymous source 9to5google.com has received a few more tidbits about the incoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7 scheduled for release on August 2nd in New York. Today’s leak includes a new service called Samsung Cloud, Gorilla Glass, adapters and more specs.

Samsung Cloud is a new cloud-based backup service that Samsung is introducing. It’s unclear if this is purely for backing up and restoring devices or if it is a fully fledges online cloud storage solution. Note 7 owners will apparently receive 5GB, or 1/3 of a Google drive account, of free storage to get them started.

Corning recently dropped Gorilla Glass 5 onto the world, and it seems that Samsung will be among the first to use the new glass in a device. With an improvement to ‘drop resistance’ this could mean less broken screens for Note 7 owners.

According to the source, Samsung will include a Micro USB to USB C adapter to assist you in the transition between standards. As long as it’s not a USB C to headphone jack adapter we’re ok with that!

Who doesn’t want to use their phone underwater? Well if you do not only is the Note 7 going to be water resistant (IP68), the new Note S-Pen stylus will also be able to be used underwater, convenient!

We’re also seeing what could well be the final specs of the Note 7:

  • 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) AMOLED with Gorilla Glass 5
  • 12MP rear camera
  • 5MP front-facing camera
  • USB Type-C
  • Bluetooth/WiFi B/G/N/AC
  • NFC
  • IP68 water and dust resistance
  • 3,500 mAh battery
  • Iris scanner, fingerprint, accelerometer, gyro, proximity
  • Onyx, Silver ‘titanium’, Blue ‘coral’

The Note 7 will be announced on August 2nd and could ship as early as August 19 in the USA at least. Overall the Galaxy Note 7 is shaping up to be a fantastic device for those who like the larger form factor. It’s only a few days now until the 2nd of August, as always we will be bringing you the coverage live as it happens.

Are you looking forward to the new Note 7? Let us know below.

anyone want to buy my nexus 6p? less than 9 months old… 😛

Phill Edwards

If love it if it was 5.5″, but then I guess it would be a Galaxy S7, wouldn’t it!

Hiko

5.7″ screen? cmon its suppose to be bigger than a s7 edge

Kam

S7 edge is 5.5 inches . 5.7 is plenty huge and 6 puts it out of 75% of users maximum tolerance ( I’m a happy nexus 6 user , but can see their POV )

Goddammit, it sounds interesting.
If only it didn’t come with duplicated apps but timely updates for at least the two year contract period.
