After launching in India earlier this month, Oppo has wasted no time in bringing the next in their line of photography focused F Series phones, the Oppo F1s to Australia today.
The phone is available today in Gold from JB Hifi, as well as online from Oppo themselves, but Oppo is also partnering for the first time with emerging MVNO Woolworths Mobile to supply the phone, as well as the Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus on contract with the carrier. The Oppo F1s will start on a $35/month plan on a 24-month contract, while the other phones range up in price commensurate with their outright value.
As a sweetener to the deal, WoolWoolworths is offering e-gift cards with the purchase of a phone on contract with the Oppo handsets, ranging from $25-$100, depending on the size of the contract you opt for.
The Oppo F1s is a mid-range device featuring a 5.5″ HD (1280×720) display, with a Mediatek processor under the hood paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (of course you get a microSD card slot with that).
But it’s the photography side of things that Oppo is concentrating on with their F-series phones and the F1s and as with previous Oppo phones, they’ve again opted to use a higher MP camera sensor on the front with a 16MP sensor, and a 13MP sensor on the rear.
Both cameras have been designed to be used in low-light, as well as offering a ‘screen flash’ to up the ante for the really dark night selfie shots.

The phone is positioned at a great price in Australia, but as you can see also has very decent specs under the hood for the price. Speaking about the launch of the phone, Michael Tran, CMO Oppo Australia said
Aussies are savvy consumers who understand premium doesn’t have to mean pricey. The F1s takes the features we know our users love, such as rapid Touch Access and stunning camera technology, and packages them into an affordable device that isn’t going to break the bank. Only OPPO can deliver flagship features at this price point, and we know our customers will appreciate the value the F1s has to offer.
You can check out the phone at JB Hifi, or online at Oppo.com/au and Woolworths Mobile.
In this day & age, I would have thought that NFC and Wireless AC, especially the 802.11AC, would be mandatory.
