Lenovo revealed the Force variant of their Moto X line last September, and in a move that proves that things come to those who wait Moto Australia is now selling the device online through their store or through Harvey Norman.
The device will set you back $599 AUD and offers a Snapdragon 810, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage with MicroSD card support up to 2TB. It’s a 5.4″ device with 2560 x 1440 display rocking in at 540 ppi. Overall for $599 that’s not a bad bunch of specs.
The X Force is, unfortunately, lacking a fingerprint sensor but it does have NFC and wireless charging as well as 48 Hours battier life and TurboCharging.

The keynote feature on the X Force is the Shattershield screen which Motorola warrant against shattering and cracking for 4 years. It’s pertinent to note that this doesn’t mean the phone is shock proof however, with Motorola noting on their website that the phone is ‘not shockproof or designed to withstand all damage from dropping’. Still, there’s some test videos around that look pretty good.
We acknowledge that this isn’t the latest and greatest device to hit the market, and perhaps some were waiting for some other Moto devices do arrive, however, Moto’s steady expansion of their Australian stock lines and Online store can only be good for those wanting Moto products into the future.
If you’re in the market for a mid-range device the Moto X Force is definitely worthy of consideration. We’ve got a Moto X Force on the review desk right now and we’ll be bringing you the full review shortly.
I really wanted this phone…. A year ago
lol $600.
Seriously, this time last year that would have been great. Or even 6 months ago.
Too little too late Motorola… Last years specs and no fingerprint scanner for $600?
Spoiler: this phone is great :). My first experience with Moto Display, and being able to wave your hand over the screen to see the time or look at what notifications are waiting makes me think of another kind of “force”. Hopefully the release of the phone itself will mean release of more TurboChargers available to buy separately – any word on this?
12mths… good work Motorola.
Yeah, it’s great to see it here finally but last year’s tech at prices you can buy a Oneplus 3, Axon 7 and Idol 4S for? Nup
I just bought a lg g5 for less than $600
Uuurgh, SD810
I waited for so long for this phone to arrive, and it’s finally here! But I have now moved on to wanting the Z Force and who knows when that’s coming ?
next year this time most likely
