HMD Global, the Finnish company that had purchased the right to use the Nokia name for both their feature and smartphones, has officially kicked off the teasing for their first Android phone, the Nokia 6, after the phone started leaking earlier this week.
The Facebook post, which was placed up over 9 hours ago, states “Get ready! The Nokia 6 is coming to China! More announcements to follow on February 26th… Save the date!” and according to follow up replies to comments on the post, they have more to come through the rest of the year. The replies to the post also include tidbits of information such as the price, ¥1699CNY, or around $330AUD, and that the phone is exclusively heading to China, with expansion to further markets to be announced in the first half of this year.

Though not confirmed by HMD as yet, rumoured specs for the phone include a 5.5″ FullHD (1920×1080) resolution display with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and 4GB of RAM powering it. 64GB of onboard storage with a microSD card slot will be included, as will a 16MP rear camera and 8MP front-facing camera. The phone, as shown in the video will have a fingerprint scanner, and Dolby Atmos sound. The Nokia 6 will also be running Android 7.0 Nougat.
Ausdroid will be in attendance reporting from the show floor so we will be able to see and possibly try out the Nokia 6 at the event.
