A new Nokia phone will be unveiled later this month, with HMD Global, the Finnish company behind the re-launch of Nokia phones set to unveil the high-end Nokia 8 in London on August 16th, but why wait till then with the phone showing up in new leaked photos.
The Nokia 8 is said to be the first high-end phone, with their current range of devices, the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 all very firmly in the low to mid-range. The phone has shown up in gold/copper colouring, which show you what to expect from Nokia with their high-end phones. The phone has a physical home key on the front, likely doubling as a fingerprint sensor, while on the rear is the expected dual-lens Zeiss camera setup with an LED flash.
The phone seems to have a dual-SIM setup, or at least a SIM/microSD card holder, most likely dependent on region and whether it’s sold on carriers.
The phone is missing Zeiss branding which we’ve seen on previous leaks of the Nokia 8 which have been in the Blue/Silver colour option.
The Nokia 8 is rumoured to have a 5.3″ QHD (2560×1440) resolution display and is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM very likely depending on market. A new partnership with Carl Zeiss optics will bear fruit with the Nokia 8 reportedly the first phone in the Nokia line to bear the Zeiss branding on a dual 13MP rear camera setup.
