Asus’ Zenfone series has been quite popular with Android users around the world with a range of handsets aimed at users wanting something different from a phone. Their fourth generation is set to be unveiled, with Asus inviting press to a launch event on August 19th.
The event is scheduled to take place at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay, Phillippines and if the teaser images (and the general direction of photography on mobile devices) are anything to go by we’ll be seeing dual-lens Zenfone 4 handsets being announced.
Asus has apparently already released a Zenfone 4 already, with the ZenFone 4 Max already announced in Russia. The Zenfone 4 Max included a dual rear-facing 13 MP camera setup with a Snapdragon 430 and 4GB of RAM under the hood and a 5000 mAh battery giving the phone the ‘Max’ monniker.
The Zenfone 3 came in a number of iterations, so we’ll likely see a range of devices announced at the event. We’ve never had Asus bring the Zenfone range to Australia so it’s unlikely we’ll be seeing them here with the Zenfone 4, but that won’t stop keen importers bringing them in unofficially, so stay tuned for details on those distributors.
