The release schedule for Motorola has been all over the place, but it’s about to get a little easier with the possibility that they’re cutting their Moto C, M and X-series this year, but are ramping up the Moto G releases.

According to Evan Blass (@evleaks) the Moto G series is about to get four distinct models as the Moto C, M and X-series may possibly fall by the wayside.

Motorola has always maintained that the Moto G is their most popular series of devices, with the phones very popular in emerging markets such as Brazil – there’s a reason they keep announcing them in Sao Paulo.

No mention was made of the Moto E series, so it’s likely hanging around and the Moto Z series has seen the Moto Z3 launch in several models this year. Scarce information points to Motorola maintaining the Moto Z-series phones would retain the same form factor for Moto Mods for three generations, and with this Moto Z3-series the Moto Z4 – Z6 could be different again.
