Samsung has launched a range of affordable smartphones in Australia designed to offer premium features to more price-conscious customers, with models starting at just $279 and ranging up to $649.
The range starts at the budget-minded Samsung Galaxy A20 and goes through the A30 and A50 to the top-end Galaxy A70.
“Designed for the digital native, the Galaxy A Series is packed with so many of our signature, premium Galaxy S Series features, giving Aussies unprecedented access to Samsung’s latest innovations at an accessible price point,” said Garry McGregor, Vice President of IT and Mobile, Samsung Electronics Australia.
“We believe enabling genuine human connection is paramount and that this should be available to everyone.
“So whether it’s creating the latest meme, sharing a live moment or catching the latest viral content we want our A Series devices to be there, supporting Aussies in whatever they’re choosing to do.”
The top tier Samsung Galaxy A70 which retails for $649 includes a 6.7-inch Infinity U display with slim bezels. It features a tripe camera system including 32-megapixel front and rear cameras, as well as a depth sensor on the rear to create excellent depth-of-field photos. In addition there’s an 8MP wide-angle lens for great portraits, wide-angle landscapes and more. With a 4,500 mAh battery on board, it’s sure to last all day.
The next tier down is the Samsung Galaxy A50, which has a slightly smaller 6.4-inch display and a 25MP three-camera system. Like the A70, it includes an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, a 4,000 mAh battery and 15W fast charging.
The Samsung Galaxy A30 features the same 6.4-inch display, with a 16MP dual rear camera system, 4,000 mAh battery and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The entry-level Galaxy A20 smartphone offers great value.
It has a 6.4-inch Infinity V high-definition display, a 13-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera, a fingerprint reader and a 4000mAh battery with 15W charging.
All of these devices, with the exception of the A70, are available online and in-store at Samsung and selected retailers.
The Galaxy A70 will be released in June and the A50 will only be available through Optus.

This is the only time that mid ranger Samsung devices have caught my eye. Great Samsung OLED screens paired with decent SoC’s and internals.
Such a shame that the A50 is an Optus exclusive. This is probably the pick of the bunch for me. Hopefully it’s a time limited exclusive.

One thing about Samsung is they give top of the range for an affordable price, rather than average phones at double the price. Kudos to Samsung.
