Alcatel has announced a couple of new affordable, quality smartphones in the lead up to Christmas 2019, bringing a dual camera to the sub-$200 price point with the Alcatel 1S, and a triple camera and fingerprint sensor to the $300 mark.
As is usually the case with Alcatel’s smartphones, these are positioned with good features for a competitive price point, proving that you don’t need to spend big to get great inclusions in a smartphone.
The Alcatel 3X is a 6.5-inch HD+ smartphone with a triple rear camera setup. The 16MP + 8MP + 5MP triple rear camera array can identify different photo scenarios and automatically optimise photography settings for 21 different subjects so all you have to go is point and shoot for envy-worthy pictures.
Other premium features in the affordable smartphone include a fingerprint sensor and Face Key to deliver premium security features in a cost-effective package that also weighs less than 180 grams.
The Alcatel 3X offers a Google Assistant Button enabling users to access apps, search for information, control smart home devices, set reminders, send text messages, and numerous other actions in a single press.
In addition, the Google Lens function lets the user learn more about the world through what they see, whether it’s finding products online, learn more about landmarks, or identifying plants and animals with a touch of a button.
All this is available in the $299 Alcatel 3X, which is on sale now at JB HiFi.
Alongside the Alcatel 3X is the newly announced 1S, a sub-$200 smartphone with dual cameras and a fingerprint sensor to provide security to users of this affordable phone. It, too, is available now from JB HiFi for $199.
