HMD Global is set to make an announcement of upcoming devices during a livestreamed launch event and its seems that one of these devices, the Nokia 1.3, has leaked out ahead of the event.
The Nokia 1.3, which is the follow up device to the budget-friendly Nokia 1 Plus, which was launched in February 2019, has had its render pics leaked out thank in part to our favourite leaker, Evan Blass (@evleaks), and it gives us the best look at what could be the follow up device in all its glory.
We are expecting some extremely modest specifications upgrades on this budget wallet friendly device, which more than likely will be an Android Go powered device mainly set for emerging markets or prepaid device for telco’s worldwide. Here, the Nokia 1 Plus is a Vodafone exclusive prepaid device, so the newer Nokia 1.3 would probably fit into this category here.
From what we can tell thanks to the renders is that the Nokia 1.3 comes with a notched display (yes its still a thing), though unsure the type of display used which could most likely be an typical LCD panel, with plenty of side bezels which is OK for a budget friendly device.
It also seems that the Nokia 1.3 comes with HMD’s dedicated Google Assistant button, which I have to say when reviewing past Nokia devices, I actually found somewhat useful. It would also seem that the Nokia 1.3 may come with a 3.5mm Audio Jack for those who prefer to still have this port available on their devices.
Camera wise, the Nokia 1.3 seems to come with a single rear camera, most likely to be rumoured around the 5MP range and about the same 5MP camera housed at the notch at the front of the device.
The rear back panel also seems to have a texted finish, sort of similar to the Nokia 2.3 HMD released towards the end of last year. It is also expected or at least rumoured for the Nokia 1.3 to come with removable for access to the SIM slot and potential removable battery.
Powering the Nokia 1.3 from what we understand, could be a low-end MediaTek chipset that will be paired with 1GB of RAM and up to 16GB of storage and as stated, could be launched with Android 10 (Go Edition). Of course like with any leaked renders or rumours, it might be best taking this all with a grain of salt until the live stream event occurs, which at this stage, no information about when the livestream will occur but we will keep you updated as and when news occurs here.
