This week, HMD Global has announced the new Nokia 1.3 will be in Australia from tomorrow, Thursday 23 April for just $169.
Billed as the perfect smartphone for loved ones to stay in touch, this diminutive handset packs a punch. With security guaranteed through monthly security updates for three years and OS updates for two years, the Nokia 1.3 also features the new Camera Go and Gallery Go apps. Users can also rest assured that when Android 11 (Go edition) is released later this year, the Nokia 1.3 will be in line for the update.
With so many of us told to stay home, work from home and generally stay away from everyone else, having the right technology at the right price is more important than ever. Nokia 1.3 is the perfect device for your kids’ grandparents if they don’t have smart devices, or if they need new ones to stay in touch. It’s also perfect for your kids, and even if you feel like shouting your neighbour a phone (I guess it’s possible!)
For the tiny price of $169, you get a smartphone with a pure Android experience, 5.71-inch display, 8MP rear camera with low-light mode enhancement, an optimised Qualcomm 215 processor and 3,000 mAh battery.
Being an Android Go device, you might expect a small amount of RAM and you’d be right – just 1GB, and 16GB storage (though you can throw in a MicroSD for some more space if needed). This isn’t a gaming powerhouse, but it will run the main apps you need to stay in touch.
Some of the key features designed to keep people in touch more easily include:
- Google Duo – pre-loaded on the device, Google Duo has the ability to bring together up to 12 people on a group call, so sharing moments with family and friends has never been easier whether on Android or iOS
- Gallery Go – grandparents will never miss a moment whether receiving adorable photos of a new baby or a grandkid’s magnificent artwork
- Camera Go – takes beautiful photos without worrying about speed or storage, the clean and simple interface makes capturing a photo easier than ever
- Guaranteed monthly security updates for three years and OS updates for two years
Nokia 1.3 will be available in Charcoal colour both online and in store, in retailers including Officeworks, Big W, Australia Post and JB HiFi (albeit online only that last one). It’s also available at Harvey Norman .. but .. you know.
Grab yours tomorrow for just $169.
