With so many more of us working on the go over the last 12 months, the PC – and more importantly, the laptop – has never been more important. These days, the term PC and laptop are almost synonymous.
HP says almost half the global workforce is still working remotely due to COVID-19, and because of this, the need for power that can travel with you is more important than ever.
With this, having the best PC you can take with you is critical, and to that end, HP has announced a virtual swathe of new gear to meet your work needs into 2021.
HP Elite Dragonfly G2 is the first new laptop announced, with the claim to be the world’s lightest compact business convertible, weighing in at just under 1kg. It’s also one of the most sustainable PCs you can get, incorporating recycled plastics into the design.
Featuring 11th Gen Intel Core processors with optional 5G or gigabit 4G connectivity, this beautiful 2-in-1 laptop offers an easy to clean design and striking blue design. There’s also a handy new tamper detection feature, which locks the PC if it’s been physically opened or compromised, notifying the user at next login.
The HP Elite Folio is designed for productivity on the go, incorporating a Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G processor and connectivity package, delivering multi-gigabit connectivity on the go. This, alongside WiFi 6 and a massive 24.5 hours of local video playback.
The Elite Folio features a “pull forward” design (which you might be familiar with in some iPad cases), combining what people love about their mobiles, tablets and laptops all in one.
Other key features are a 13.5-inch display with privacy protection, an HD webcam with physical shutter, fanless operation and a quiet keyboard for use everywhere. There’s also an include Slim Active Pen with integrated charging for note taking on the go.
This is one schmick looking convertible.
The HP EliteBook 840 G8 Aero sports a long name, and lots of features.
For a machine billed as the lightest 14-inch mainstream business laptop, HP has thrown a lot in.
Weighing in under 2.5lbs (or around 1.13kg), this stunning machine features 11th gen Intel Core processors, WiFi 6, 5G / LTE connectivity (optional) and it’s designed for today’s workplace with the full suite of quality video and microphones for those ever-present Zoom or Teams meetings.
As with the Folio, there’s HP Sure View Reflect to keep eyes off your screen wherever you’re working, be it in the office, home or on the train. With a case made of 90% recycled materials, you can have a great laptop and feel good about your contribution to reducing impact on the environment, too.
In addition to the three flagship machines announced above, HP is also introducing the following new and updated options:
- HP EliteBook x360 1030 G8 and HP EliteBook x360 1040 G8, botth offering a choice of processor, strong security and optional 5G connectivity.
- HP Elite x2 G8 is a hybrid tablet-come-laptop designed for PC performance with tablet freedom in a stunning design (with a neat little kickstand).
- HP Envy 14 is a mobile personal creative studio, allowing people to work, create and stay connected on the go. The huge 16:10 display with 14-inch diagonal offers much more viewing room than the traditional 16:9 display.
