OVO Mobile, an MVNO that’s part content streaming provider and mobile service provider has today introduced a new plan aimed at ‘tweens and teens’, or more precisely those getting a new phone for the first time. With the introduction of their new plan, OVO Mobile has begun offering parental controls in addition to the usual data, calls and SMS all for the low price of $9.95 per month.
The new plan also includes access to what OVO Mobile call the ‘Family Zone’. The Family Zone is now available on all OVO Mobile plans and allows for more control of a childs phone, including the ability to set times of usage, block ‘adult-rated or unrated content’ and get notified when children are viewing said content. The Family Zone is worth $59.40/year, but it’s free as long as you remain connected on the plan.
OVO Mobile uses the Optus 4G Plus Networks and their new plan in and of itself is pretty decent. The OVO Mobile Hero offer runs on a 30-day cycle which includes 1GB of data, that can be topped up in 500MB or 1GB increments for $10 per GB, and also includes unlimited SMS and MMS. There’s $200 worth of included call credit, but that will be eaten away with the 40c connection fee for each call which is then charged at 99c per minute.
If you’re worried about what the kids will be watching there’s no need to worry as they can stream any content from the OVO Play catalogue which includes content from the V8 Supercars, Audi Sport Customer Racing, Gymnastics Australia and OVO promises there’s more coming soon.
If this sounds like a plan just tailor made for you or your family, head over to the OVO Mobile website to check it out.
