I have just updated all the APNs on our APNs Page. Now, all (if not most) should be working, if not (or you have different working settings) could you please let me know in the comments below, cheers!

Hi, i have a HTC Desire running on the virgin network. The settings for internet work fine but i found that the mms settings don’t seem to do anything. I found that putting the settings in normally for the virgin apn and leaving the apn type blank and simply adding in a second apn for just the optus mms settings leaving the authentication type blank did the trick. 🙂
I have just done the same thing … uploaded the update and now after an hour of retyping in apn settings, I still cannot access internet or mms. Have you found any answers yet?
i have a problem , i updated my htc wildfire on wifi to the 2.2 update and lost my internet connection i done your apn settings with telstra like last time when i got the phone but now they wont work . do u have any idea on what apn settings i need now as i cant access my mobile internet, i really need help
same problem. here how it worked out for me: go to your network setting > Access Point Names > Reset to default > then re- enter the whole APN for your network (http://ausdroid.net/apns/#vf) > go to Access point names > select the APN you entered (mark with green dot) > Connect to the internet > Done!
I have a HTC wildfire which i successfully configured from your setting some months ago. the Android system was somewhat automatically upgraded to 2.2.1 and I have now lost internet access and MMS capability. I found that there were no APN’s set so set them up again according to your settings. I even went to the extent of ensuring there were no space characters at the end of my input, which caught me out last time, but that hasn’t made any difference. any help???
Hey Buzz Moody, a little amendmend to the Optus Internet APN setting for a htc Desire HD. Everything as listed in you post except the last setting: APN type. You listed it as ‘internet’, which i tried and it did not work. I then found another post, stating to try ‘default’ as advised by Optus and it worke just fine now.
Not sure how you can add this to you list, since this setting might be Desire HD specific.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks
Tom
Hi Guys, I found that these following settings fixed my problem after the 2.2 Froyo update on the Optus network. They were sourced from good ol’ whirlpool (http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1436872). Ensure that there is nothing in the APN type at the bottom. Good luck! OPTUS MMS SETTINGS name is Optus MMS APN is mms do not put anything in for the proxy, port, username, password, server mmsc type in http:mmsc.optus.com.au:8002 do not put in the slash as people have done here in this forum under mmsc is mms proxy put in 061.088.190.010 under mms proxy is mms port put in 8070 and that is it for… Read more »
Actually…that only displayed the 3G icon and allowed uploading, in my case. I fiddled with the settings a bit further and came up with the following:
Name : Optus Internet
APN : yesinternet
MMS protocol : WAP 2.0
MCC : 505
MNC : 02
Authentication type : PAP
Everything else :
Have yet to try an MMS. Will post on how I go.
Cheers.

MMS functionality doesn’t work for me, so I’ll keep plugging away and post once I get it working (unless someone beats me to it). Internet’ access is more important to me, anyway.

Hi again,
The MMS APN that worked for me is the following. Please note, that I did not see a radio button next to the MMS APN.
Name : Optus MMS
APN : mms
MMSC : http://mmsc.optus.com.au:8002/
MMS proxy : 61.88.190.10
MMS port : 8070
MMS protocol : WAP 2.0
MNC : 02
Authentication type : PAP
APN type : mms
I have read that some people had to set the authentication type to None but this wasn’t my experience.
Cheers.

Solutions?
I’m another Optus user (HTC Desire) that hasn’t been able to get the APN settings. Previously, the ones worked well.
Does anyone know what the old APN settings were, before they changed them around?
Hi,
I’m also running 2.2 on my desire and getting the same problem with the APN settings> I know this post isn’t helping but thought I’d at least add to the list of optus users with this going on
J?
I have an htc desire that is running with optus, i have used your site for the apn in the past and it worked fine no problem. but now i just go an update for froyo and it deleted my apn settings. i have put in the new ones and it still does not work.

Hi, Has anyone reported that Optus APNs don’t seem to work on the Telstra Froyo (2.2) HTC Desire?
Your listed APN’s worked fine with 2.1
Hi Jimbo,
I seem to be having the same problem thus far… Continuing the Google searches…
Cheers.

Just out of interest do you know what happened to the “3netaccess” APN for Three?
I had to setup a connection to that APN two days ago and it worked correctly, so I would be surprised if it is no longer valid.
I removed it, because apparently it’s no longer needed
