I don’t know what’s worse: knowing that I’m going to have to wait 6 months for Android 2.2 on my Desire. Or knowing what HTC’s getting me for Christmas.
“I would believe that we would be done with our Froyo updates before Christmas.” – Eric Lin, HTC global PR
Either way, it’s a bit of a let down. After speculation that HTC was already testing Froyo on the Desire and other devices, they have come and said that they are working hard on the update, but they want everything to be working as well as they want. Well HTC, in 6 months, it better be working bloody well.

I just want at least 2.0 for my HTC Magic. Sigh
well it looks like the USA is getting the Desire now too, which means that HTC might push the 2.2 update for Froyo to the top of the list…

A link on whirlpool quotes vodafone expecting their nexus one will update to froyo by the end of July, maybe Dave can confirm this ?
Ohh DAVE ! Where are you ?
oh… well… let me cry out the pain waiting for Motorola to update us on FroYo… B-(
Well, this just made the Desire / Nexus One choice a bit easier for those with that dilemma.
I was talking to a samsung rep at a telechoice store yesterday and he said the galaxy would be getting 2.2 in october, i’ve been tossing up between the desire and the galaxy s, this just made that choise alot easier – though the galaxy is amazing tbh
Galaxy S is very nice, yes.
Hi Buzz. Now that you’ve had your Desire (so to speak…) for a few months now, how long are you getting out of the battery? And why are you displaying this page in that rather irritating wide aspect or is it my computer?
Wide aspect? Can you take a screenshot for me?
I get about 12-15hours out of mine.
Thanks. I’ll…er…look into that screenshot thingy. What chance we’ll get the Droid X? This has me salivating in a most unpleasant manner. I love the minimalistic look of the beast; the screen takes up most of the front! And then there’s the leaked picture of a potential new Samsung… Gaaaargh…(with apologies to H. Simpson)
If the Droid X gets a GSM version, MobiCity are getting it 100%, carriers, not so sure. I’m sure they’ll be watching closely at the US response.
At least you have a time frame now though,
Poor Samsung users just got a “Soon” in regards to their 2.2 update.
🙁 well that sucks, they better add divx decoding and 720p recording! That flashlight app off the Wildfire would be nice aswell.
Sucks bad. I’ve heard so many different stories about when Froyo is coming to HTC devices, but this is the only one with some backbone to it.
