ViewSonic have quietly released their new Tablet offering in the ViewPad 10s, with both 3G + Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi only variants. It’s very much like the ViewPad 10 but lacks Windows as a dual-booting OS and they’ve also dropped the hardware buttons. The ViewPad 10s (we’re thinking the Wi-Fi only variant) is available from Harvey Norman now for $598 which isn’t too bad a price given the specs, which are as follows.
- Android 2.2
- NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-Core CPU @ 1GHz
- 10″ 1024×600 Capacitive Display
- 1.3MP Front-facing Camera
- 512MB RAM
- Wi-Fi b/g
- HSPA GSM/WCDMA Bands: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100MHz (3G Model only)
- 7.5hrs battery life with the 3300mAh battery
You can check out the full specs of the device, as well as any other information, in the source link below. Go on, click it. Or if you want to try one out, head to your local Harvey Norman store.

Went to hn the other day, the 10s doesnt have 3g slot as advertised. And the screen doesnt do justice for the price.
Would you buy for the same money a 1.83GHz Intel N475, with 1Gig of RAM, 16Gig SSD,10.1″ 1024×600 Capacitive Display, 1.3 MP FF Camera, 2 x USB, microSD, Wi-Fi b/g/n, 3G Capable (with GPS) running Android 2.2? Did I mention 10+ hours of battery life??
Say Yes and let me know and I’ll push it into Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi!!!

yes pleas
Are you guys going to get one of these to review? They’re obviously not up there with the iPads and Galaxy Tabs for that sort of cash but I hear surprisingly little about them to make an informed decision on buying (or not buying) one…
We’ve contacted ViewSonic and asked for some clarification on specs & future updates, as well as asking for a review unit.
Seeing as though it’s now the weekend we might not get a response until Monday.
Any news if/when this will be getting the honeycomb update? I’d go get one today if it had that preinstalled…
No news at all, though we’re trying to get in contact with people at ViewSonic to confirm stuff.
The frequency bands seem odd. Which ones are GSM and which are WCDMA?
Would be nice if it supported all the 850/900/2100 3G networks in AU.
The bands are very odd and as said above we’re getting in contact with ViewSonic to work things out.
Finally a decent tablet is available somewhere in Australia where you can actually go in and play with it! Wonders will never cease!
2.2 isn’t decent for any dual-core tablet released. Minimum specs should include 3.0.
