Pocket-lint have just snared themselves an official image of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, which is to be announced in a few hours at IFA. Pocket-lint report that it will feature a Super AMOLED display of unknown resolution instead of the PLS TFT display found on the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
It will be powered by a single-core dual-core 1.4GHz CPU which will run Android 3.2 w/ Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. There’s a 3MP camera on the back and 2MP camera on the front for all your video calling needs. This bad boy will have a 5100mAh battery which will apparently keep it running for 10 hours of use.
As you can see, this device is meant to be used in portrait instead of landscape, due to the positioning of the front camera, rear camera and 30-pin charger. This image of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 proves that the blurry picture we reported on a few days ago was not of this device.
Now all we need to know now is, will this be the ‘Next Gen Galaxy Tab’ that is headed to Telstra before the end of the year? I certainly hope so. More pictures of the Galaxy Tab 7.7 available at the source link.
Android was currently suffering the fragmentation problem due to different size smart phones. Now with this 7.7 and 8.9 looks like the fragmentation will happen in Honeycomb as well…… 🙁
So have Samsung officially announced that they won’t be updating the OS software on any of their android devices anymore? Seems like they just prefer to announce new devices every 2 months and never update the old ones.
I think u may want to change that to dual core.
