LG Sells 15 Million L Series phones globally

After launching their design-centric L Series phones at Mobile World Congress last year, LG has apparently been enjoying a pretty decent amount of success with the line. Their latest announcement of sales figures shows an L Series device has been sold every second of the last two months, propelling their total figure to over 15 million units sold.

The announcement coincides nicely with the upcoming Optimus L Series II devices – the L3II, L5II and L7II – launching at Mobile World Congress later this month.

We’re expecting firm specs for the Optimus L3II and L5II models will be announced at the show. You’ll recall the Optimus L7II which is set to launch first in Russia already had its specifications released:

• 1GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon(MSM8225) CPU
• 768MB RAM
• Up to 4GB eMMC onboard storage with Micro SD
• 8.0MP Rear Camera with LED Flash and Front-Facing VGA Camera
• Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
• 2,460mAh Battery
• 121.5×66.6×9.7mm (122.2×66.6×9.7 mm for the Dual-SIM)

LG has promised to provide localised availability information as soon as they receive it for all the L Series II phones – hopefully this won’t be too far away.

The L Series phones carry one of my favourite OEM customisations so far – QuickMemo – whose functions I’ve sadly not been able to replicate with other software available on Google Play. Design of the L Series II sounds promising, with a unibody design and laser etching. Bring on Mobile World Congress!
