When it comes to Google Glass, there’s really not many surprises left. Early in April, Google released the specs for Google Glass although they left out a few key details. Now thanks to Developer +Jay Lee those cards have largely been revealed via the Selfscreens website:
* It’s running Android 4.0.4 – Ice Cream Sandwich – just as Larry Page said
* It’s an OMAP 4430 CPU – Dual Core? – Having trouble finding exact mhz
* There’s 682mb of RAM (678052kb reported in /proc/meminfo). Kernel messages lead me to believe it’s actually 1gb but some is being used for other hardware purposes(?)
In the post Jay also refers to the fact that Glass has been rooted and he clearly has a healthy level of excitement about Glass and will no doubt be pushing and playing to get the most out of the technology for him and other users. Now that ADB, Root and some apps – or ‘Glassware’ as apps for Glass are being called – are being released for the device we know, in essence at least what Glass is capable of and the possible use cases for Glass are really only limited by the imagination and creativity of the developers.
