HP Slatebook x2 10
With the HP Slate 7″ due to launch any day now in Australia, it seems that one of the biggest PC Manufacturers in the world may also be looking at having a go at the 10″ tablet market as well. German site TabTech has spotted a potential 10″ slate in the Antutu Benchmark app on Android.

The device listed comes up as ‘SlateBook 10 x2 PC’ and lists Android 4.2.2 as the Operating System. The benchmark shows a 1.8GHz CPU inside and TabTech speculates that the SlateBook 10 x2 could possibly run an Nvidia Tegra 4 Chipset. The first Tegra 4 cpus are supposed to be coming clocked at 1.8GHz so it is definitely a possibility that this could be correct.

Antutu Ranking for SlateBook x2

There is not much more substance to the rumour at this stage with this benchmark so far, being the only evidence. Tegra 4 devices are said to be due to start appearing in mid-2013 so if HP are indeed working on a 10″ Android Tablet we’ll see it sooner than later. HP has the scope for production where they could knock out a few hundred thousand in a short period of time with no issues at all and partnering up to deliver what could be one of the first Tegra 4 devices can do nothing to hurt their credibility.

We’ll have to wait and see what the Slate7 is like before we can even begin to comment on a 10″ Slate and we’re working with HP now to get a review model to test out.

Would you be receptive to a 10″ HP Tablet?

Good to see more manufacturers making 10″ Android tablets. The market has seem to gone a little quiet with only Samsung, Asus and Sony currently putting out tablets. The previous makers such as Acer and Toshiba have gone a little quiet.

Totally agree. There needs to be more ten inch Android tablets out there to keep driving optimised apps for the larger form factor. So sick of blown up phone apps.
