Galaxy Zoom
If the Samsung Galaxy Camera was not exactly your cup of tea, then Samsung are reportedly working on another option, the Samsung Galaxy Zoom. The new device will reportedly be a camera phone with an emphasis on the camera functions.

Packing a 16MP sensor for the camera, the display on the Zoom will be a surprisingly compact – in this day and age of 5″ 1080P behemoths – 4.3″ qHD(960×540) SAMOLED display. It will come with 8GB of on-board storage and a what every good camera needs – a microSD card slot capable of taking 64GB cards. All the wireless functions – Bluetooth 4.0 LE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n will be included as well as A-GPS to geo-locate your photos. No details on the RAM or CPU have been included at this stage. It will ship in black and white under the model # SM-C1010

Software wise it will run a version of Touchwiz/Nature UX Jelly Bean although it’s not stated if it will be 4.1 or 4.2 but with the Galaxy S4 launching on 4.2 it would be expected to at least match this. Camera software enhancements would be expected to emphasise the camera-phone aspect of the product but what that would entail will have to wait for an official announcement.

Is there any interest in a camera specific phone?

So the obvious question is: does it have optical zoom? i.e. zoom worth having.

I’ve tried the Galaxy Camera in JB HI FI a couple of times, runs surprisingly smoothly on Touchwiz.
