A new LG device has shown up in the benchmark results on the AnTuTu Benchmark app, with the country of origin set as LG’s home country of South Korea. The clock speed on the device with model number LG-F320 is showing as 2265MHz and is quite possibly running a Snapdragon 800 CPU according to GSMInsider who first saw the results.
LG has already announced that they will be using the Snapdragon 800 processor in their Optimus G series phones going forward so this is not news as such, but the score of 32,002 is very nice. By comparison a quick test of my Nexus 4 which runs a not too shabby 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU shows a score of 17,578.
Unfortunately there is no Android version information for the phone supplied but a search in AnTuTu for other models with the LG-F320 model shows a LG-F320S running Android 4.2.2 but with a smaller score of 20,693, a LG-F320K running Android 4.1.2 and a score of 18,930 and finally a LG-F320L running Android 4.2.2 with a score of 17,188.
There’s no guarantee that this is indeed the Optimus G2, or even a Nexus 5 which GSMInsider has theorised could be a possibility as well. There’s no listing over at the FCC for an LG-F320 as yet, so we’ll have to wait a little longer for further details. The Optimus G2, if this is indeed the device is rumoured to be launching on August 7th at an event in New York, it’s also apparently been shown with buttons on the back of the unit which appear to be a volume rocker. With a CPU scoring this highly on a benchmark it’s certainly shaping up to be a very nice device.
