It appears that we will be seeing a new Nexus 7 in the very near future as information has started to leak out confirming that the new Asus tablet will be hitting retail stores very soon. The pictures below are of inventory systems from various retailers in what appear to be US based stores.
Most of the information that we have seen, focusses on a 32GB version but according to some pricing that we have seen that will also be a 16GB version. The pricing for the newer variants of the Nexus 7 starts at $229 for the 16GB version and moves up to $269 for the larger 32GB storage capacity. Given the source of this information I think it is also safe to say that these are the US prices.
There isn’t a lot more that we can say about the new device other than going through some of the rumoured specs which include a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor a 5MP rear facing camera and a 1080p display. Android Central have released a video that looks like it is the new Nexus 7 and this device does have a rear camera.
We will hopefully know more next week at the Breakfast with Sundar event.
More info has been pulled from a HQ capture of the sticky. The cat amongst the pigeons is that it has 4GB of RAM, though it’s only a S4Pro. 1920×1200 is confirmed.
