It seems Samsung has just about every screen size possible in the market and are looking at other ways and means possible to expand their ever growing market share within the Android sphere.

News out of Korea from DDaily is that Samsung is working on a flip phone called Galaxy Folder which is currently still being worked on for a release in August in Samsung’s home market of Korea, before possibly moving out to other markets within Asia at least.

The Galaxy Folder isn’t anything special nor offer the specs of their current high end devices such as the Galaxy S4 or Note II, however Samsung is aiming and arming the device with mid-range spec for a low end price.

There is no mention of exact screen size, however the rumoured specs so far seem quite decent, such as:

  • 800 x 480 resolution
  • Dual Core Snapdragon S4 Processor
  • 4G LTE
  • Android 4.2
  • QWERTY Keyboard hardware enabled for dual flip screen typing

So while the screen size is very low end, Samsung seem to be keen to try a flip screen device that can handle Qwerty keyboard hardware on a dual screen looking at the low end of the market with the bonus of 4G LTE connectivity. Seems to be quite a gamble if you ask us.

So what are your thoughts on the Galaxy Folder? Do you think Samsung is taking a big gamble?
