CyanogenMod
Possibly the most popular third party ROM, Cyanogenmod has again shown their competitors one of the reasons why they’re so popular. They’ve begun a rollout of CM10.2 nightly builds, beating many of the major players to the punch and giving users an early taste of Android 4.3.

There’s a lot of information about the 10.2 nightlies on the Cyanogenmod homepage, but before you rush out and flash your phone, it’s very important to understand that the nightly or alpha builds; while stable, may have some bugs in the software and some functions may just be outright not working or broken. In fact the team at Cyanogenmod have made specific mention that while the nightlies are alpha build, they will not be accepting any bug reports for the build as they know it’s buggy and needs work. So if it’s your only phone, perhaps not ready to be a daily driver but if you’re prepared to put up with a bit of aggravation with things being “not quite right” then jump onboard.

Koush of Clockworkmod Recovery has also chimed in with news of some new builds (presumably for previously unsupported phones) of Clockwork coming. Flashing ROMs can be very exciting, it’s like getting a new phone sometimes but it’s not without risk so read the instructions on reputable sites and take your time.

Are you a Cyanogenmod fan? Have you tried the 10.2 Nightlies?

I gave Paranoid Android and the unofficial CM10.2 a go on my Note 2 N7105, but experienced a lot of graphical gliches that were driving me crazy, so I went back to the #Hashcheck# Stock-ROM ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093080 ) I’ve used for a while now.

I don’t expect the official nightlies to be much better, as I don’t think 10.1 even has a stable version available for the Note 2…

Hopefully with the rumoured Note 3 release with Android 4.3, we’ll get proper updates to these phones soon.

I’ve tried the 10.2 Nightlies on my Galaxy Note N7000, but rolled back to 10.1… 😉
