As each day passes, a new rumour surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Note III seems to find its way to the surface of the internet adding to what we collectively believe Samsung will announce on September 4 at IFA in Berlin.
According to a post on SamMobile, the upcoming Samsung phablet will be capable of 4K (UHD) video recording. It seems Samsung is trying to trying to match Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z1 (also known as Honami) which is rummoured to support 4K video recording capability.
It has also been rumoured that the various Note III versions will be powered by the Snapdragon 800 and the Exynos 5420 chipset’s respectively, which should help provide all the muscle that will be needed for the devices to utilise. Although the Australian market will see the Snapdragon 800 based version of the Note 3 according to earlier leaks
Further rumours suggest, that the Galaxy Note III will almost certainly be coming with a microSD card slot for memory expansion and the ability to support higher-quality audio playback, meaning the device will support 24-bit/192KHz sound compared to the 16-bit audio (CD quality) supported by all Galaxy smartphones currently.
A leak overnight shows off what ETradeSupply believe is the front plate of the Galaxy Note 3. The front plate confirms earlier speculation that the Note 3 will come with a 5.68″ screen and from the pictures below, have a miniscule 2.2mm bezel.
The leaks obviously confirm that Samsung will continue to use a physical home key as well as capacative Back and Menu buttons on the front of the device.
However as these are just rumours, we can’t verify the accuracy but will certainly cannot wait for the pre-IFA Samsung press conference on the 4th September – which means the early hours of the 5th September of us here in Australia. On another site, someone brought up a valid point with regards to 4k video recording.
How fast is the internal storage? At 24fps 4k video is almost 40Mb/s compressed (i believe).
Can the processor truly record 4k at all? Sounds iffy to me.
Processor probably can handle it, the internal storage speed is another thing.
4K content is something any company like Samsung/Sony/LG/Panasonic Et Al want, because it gives a reason for them to sell more 4K TVs. Basically we’ll have to wait and see.
Good point. Strange we have the viewing tech available but the means of media production is not yet available to the masses. Its a bit cart before horse. Usually they are available hand in hand. Whats the new blu-ray of the 4k world called? Is it just the same vehicle, same data but less room for other extras content?
