September 4th is nearly upon us and that means we’ll soon see what all the teases that have been coming out have been about. The video teaser shows off the upcoming phone which seems to depart from the Xperia Z and Xperia Tablet Z in having a more chamfered edge making it a litle easier to hold.

They’ve been pushing the #BestOfSony hashtag fairly heavily with these teases and at nearly six months since the launch of the Xperia Z, they’re almost due for a flagship refresh. With a rumoured Snapdragon 800 CPU, 5″ 1080P screen, 20MP camera with support for 4K video capture and 3,000mAh battery the Xperia Z1 could certainly fit the bill of being the #BestOfSony.
The only thing missing from the Sony platform as a whole right now would be some cohesion which would see their entire Four Screen strategy come together. Some Playstation 4 compatibility announcements would be nice with the launch of the console only three months away. We’ll certainly know a lot more come September 4th – 12am September 5th, Australian Eastern time.
