Asus Logo
It’s a big night in Germany, Asus has just finished their presentation and there are 6 new devices from the Taiwanese manufacturer. We’ve been shown two new Fonepad devices the Fonepad 7 and Fonepad Note 6, as well as two new MeMO Pads in 8″ and 10″ varieties. We’ve also been introduced to the Trio Book a Windows/Android dual OS device as well as the latest Asus Transformer the TF701.

Fonepad 7 and Fonepad Note 6

The two new Fonepads are going to be available in 6″ and 7″ varieties, although the 6″ Fonepad offers the functionality of a stylus input as well as the usual multi-touch input. Both are powered by Intel ATOM CPUs which seems to be becoming a trend of late

Transformer T701

Asus has unveiled the newest Transformer in their range, and no it’s not based on Optimus, but what it does have is a 2560 x 1600 display. The dock also includes a USB 3.0 port to ensure you can transfer data quickly and the Tegra 4 means that just about everything you do on the tablet will be fairly quick and with a reported 17 hours of battery life while docked, you should be doing those things for a fairly long time.

Asus has advised that there will be a TransCover case released for the TF701 which offers a synthetic screen cover with a hard shell rear, no details on price for this as yet.

I won’t be touching the TF701 with a 40 foot pole. Or any of the other products for that matter. The first was the single worst android device I ever laid hands on…and I paid money for one 🙁
