Sony has announced a handsome case for its small tablet – or very large smart phone – the Xperia Z Ultra. The Power Cover CP12 is the perfect accessory for the giant phone. The case folds into a stand and contains a 3000 mAh battery, that combined with the 3050 mAh battery in the Z Ultra should be enough for even the most power-hungry user. A handy stylus also slots into the spine of the case.
The Sony Xperia Z Ultra has a whopping 6.4″ Full HD display, quite large for a phone, but if you consider it a tablet then it is an almost pocketable size. It also features 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 800 processor and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Handily it is also water and dust resistant, once all of the ports are closed, though I can’t imagine anyone taking this monster for a swim.
Sony hasn’t provided any details on when the Power Cover CP12 will be available, nor pricing, but it is believed to retail for around $250 when launched.
The Xperia Z Ultra is available now online through Optus from $58 per month ($35 My Plan plus $23 handset repayment), $799 through Sony Australia and will be available shortly from Harvey Norman for $733 and Dick Smith for $797.

Saw the ultra today at Optus, first thought was that it is bloody huge, I like a good size screen but that’s pushing it
Is the case waterproof too?
