Due to be officially announced tomorrow night, the Motorola Moto G has had a problem staying undercover of late, with multiple leaks appearing around the internet featuring specs, pictures and benchmarks of the upcoming phone. Today’s leak comes courtesy of German retailer The Phone House who managed to leak almost the entire load of specs as well as press images of the device.
Spec wise, the phone appears to have a mid-range level of specs :
- 4.5″ 720P HD Touchscreen
- 1.2 GHz Quad-Core processor
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB onboard storage
- Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth
- HSPA+
- Android 4.3
- 2,070mAh Battery
- 129.9×65.9×6-11.6mm @ 143 grams
The lack of any mention of LTE in any of the leaks so far, suggests that the phone is almost definitely devoid of any LTE bands, last nights leak from the phones trip to GFXBench also suggested a Snapdragon 400 SoC which had no LTE radios included.
With pricing listed by Amazon at £160 and £149.99 at Tesco, the phone should translate to around the $250-$300 mark if released here in Australia. The event begins on Google+ at around 1am AEDT Thursday the 14th of November, where we should learn all about the new phone.
It should be the Moto Y. As in Y bother and get a nexus 5 🙂
It’s competition for the Nexus 4 – which they just stopped selling.
Once again, targeted on the “U S A, U S A” crowd who won’t notice its still overpriced and launching with last years spec sheet.
No it’s not. It’s competition for the smaller, “mini” handsets from Samsung, HTC, etc. At the rumoured price point it stands up very well.
Have to agree Ben; this looks like it’s aimed squarely at the lower to mid market which is dominated by cheap Android handsets which will never see an OS upgrade, which have fairly poor specs, and generally aren’t much good for anything beyond email and web browsing.
I can see Motorola selling a tonne of these.
Outside of AU, maybe.
Here, with it being a 3G only handset, which telco is likely to even consider adding it to their lineup?
Looks nice! 🙂
(Greetings from Germany!) 🙂
