Announced alongside the Xperia Z2 phone back at Mobile World Congress last month, the Xperia Z2 Tablet is a beautiful, thin and stylish, though some would say over-bezeled tablet, while we haven’t seen any launch date for the device, the Sony Australia website can now provide pricing for the three models that will launch here.
There will be three models, a 16GB and 32GB model both of which will only support WiFi connectivity and a 16GB LTE model. All three will have the same 10.1″ FullHD Triluminous Display, 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad-core processor with 3GB RAM, and of course they will all be waterproof. The 32GB Wifi model however will get a choice of black and white models, while the other models will come only in standard Black.
The 16GB Wifi model(SGP511A1B) will cost $599.00, the 32GB Wifi model(SGP512A1B) will cost $699 and finally the 16GB LTE model(SGP521A1B) will cost $749. All three are listed as ‘Currently Out of Stock on the Sony Australia website, but you can enter your email address in to be notified when they go on-sale.
Sony advised that the Xperia Tablet Z2 would be available in the UK and the rest of Europe in March. After the MWC announcement, Sony Australia promised they would advise of availability as the launch of the Xperia Z2 Tablet in Australia approaches, but with pricing now available, stock should be just around the corner.
More expensive than the iPad Air, decision just got a bit harder
Phil, which model of the Z2 tablet are you comparing to which model of iPad Air?
16gb version, though the rest is similar in price to the apple tablets
Apple’s pricing has no discounts, while Sony’s street pricing could be less.
People are preferring 7″ & 8″ instead of 10″ i guess….
7in and 8in are more portable friendly than a 10.1in, so its not unsurprising folks prefer that size.
Since owning a tablet of this size, I’ve liked the physical extra screenestate of the 10.1in, and even moreso since Phil Tann let me know about 2 VERY useful Android and desktop apps – iDisplay and RDM+
Would have been nice if Sony had outfitted these tablets with a better main cam.
What’s missing from the Sony lineup for the Z2 tablets is a 32Gb 4G model.
