We here at Ausdroid understand that not everyone can afford to fork out hundreds of dollars for a top of the line smartphone and it has come to our attention that Vodafone are offering the Alcatel OneTouch M’Pop on their pre-paid service for $89.
The OneTouch M’Pop is not particularly memorable spec wise, and is very much aimed at the entry level smartphone market, but it seems to be powerful enough to be serviceable.
The full list of specs include:
- 4″ display – 480×800 (233ppi)
- Dual-core 1GHz Processor
- 4GB Memory – expandable to 32GB via microSD card
- 5MP rear facing camera, VGA front facing
- Bluetooth, GPS
- Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
- Lithium 1400mAh battery
- 121.5 x 64 x 11.8mm
- 136.5 grams
The only good thing is that the device does come with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) on board instead of earlier software/firmware editions (i.e: Gingerbread). The only other thing is that the device doesn’t come with an LED Flash/light on the back of the device, but at $89 it’s a fairly decent cheapish option for someone looking at a very entry level smartphone.
Would you consider buying the Alcatel OneTouch M’Pop smartphone? Are you in the market for an entry level device?
I have one of these, just recently brought. Yes it is a little slow and small but does what I need it to do. The only major problem I have is trying to find a case and screen protector for it…..
