HP have been quite sneaky launching their next Android tablet device, the HP 7 Plus tablet, very quietly and it seems that the device is exclusively on sale through Officeworks in their latest catalogue for $149.
The HP 7 Plus tablet is HP’s answer to returning to the low-cost tablet market, which has become quite crowded with companies like Samsung, Pendo and no named brands competing to become number one within the market.
The HP 7 Plus tablet is hardly remarkable spec wise. Here is a full list of specs:
- 7″ IPS LCD Touchscreen display (1024 x 600)
- AllWinner A31s.ARM cortex-A7 Quad Core 1.0Ghz
- 1 GB RAM
- 8 GB on board storage – expandable to 32 GB via MicroSD Card
- 3 MP rear facing camera, 0.3 MP front facing
- WiFi – 802.11b/g/n
- Bluetooth 2.1
- Android 4.2.2
The HP 7 Plus tablet is available to purchase either through your local Officeworks store or through the website directly.
Seeing the RRP is only US$99 (plus tax) in the US, it is good to see the Australia tax still alive!
The best part is the ad in their catalogue for it. Along with the hilarious “console quality gaming”, it actually has logos for both Android and Windows.
Great price. But that thing is going to be real slow running 4.2.2
Why do you say that? With such a ludicrously low res and high spec SoC I’d expect it to run v.well as long as they have not stuffed up the aosp build too much.
Whilst it’s got a quad core CPU, those cores it’s got are slow 2011 spec, Maks
Jeni, What specs does your Aldi Brauhnana tablet have? Does it have the more cores or the less cores
