Sony is not one to rest on their laurels when it comes to building new phones. Working to what seeems a 6 month product life-cycle, they’re on track to release the Xperia Z3 at IFA in September and the phone is determined to see the light of day, first showing up as a mere front panel, it’s now out in the wild as a full phone.

The phone is believed to be the Chinese version of the Xperia Z3 – model # L55t, which follows on from the L50t used for the Xperia Z2 – and has the same design stylings as the Xperia Z2. Also shown in the pictures are front facing speakers, the 20.7MP Camera on the rear with G Lens and the IMEI number…why must you leak a phone with the very thing that Sony can track you with?

The settings pic also shows that the phone is running Android 4.4.4 – although hopefully an Android L release would appear shortly after release – and confirms the phone is running a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 MSM8974-AC chipset, rumoured to be clocked at 2.5GHz.

We’ll be seeing more of the Z3 in the near future. If you can’t wait till September to get your hands on the Z3, you can check out the Sony Xperia Z2, which Joel .

Sony’s 6 month cycle is crazy. Does not give buyers time to feel like they have the flagship phone before the new one is out.
I wonder how they will do with upgrades. Hopefully there light touch skin will allow for quicker and longer update cycles

Looks exactly like the Z2, which looked exactly like the Z1, which looked exactly like the Z….And I thought Samsung’s design formula was getting stale…

Looks to have the same 20.7mp camera and same Snapdragon 801 chip….Sorry, but what’s the point of this device?

Guess what….. U will find z4 similar to z3….Sony is now new Samsung

Theres a nice refinement from z2 to z3…but what did u expect noob

Z2 has a smaller bezel, way better screen, better speakers (front-facing stereo) and better internal hardware (the best specs at launch).

If you liked Sony’s design, then you straight away knew what you were going to get. Also, they are slowly moving closer to stock Android in their UI.

I call that consistency and continuous improvement!

Among 5.5″ phones….. Z2 is the only phone with big Bazels….not sure what u mean by small….. Anyways…… Its your choice

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I was comparing the Z2 to the Z and Z1 and pointing out that there were a number of improvements.

I should also note that the things Sony improved on seemed to be things that were considered weaknesses of their previous models.

I doubt the Z3 would be worth upgrading to from the Z2, but maybe from the Z or Z1?

It’s biggest competition of course will be the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or whatever the ‘prime’ version of the S5 turns out to be.

without plastic fantastic, bloated fisher price skins, dev unfriendly locked BLs, hot Exynos procs and a gazillion minor pointless variants
