After being announced yesterday afternoon, the Moto G is now appearing for pre-order on Australian retailers websites.
The GoodGuys have put the new Moto G (XT1068) up on their website, with a price of $279, putting the price slightly above the RRP of $269. A call to stores in the Sydney area advise that the phone is only available via order, so there’s no stock in stores at this stage, although that is expected to change later in the month. There’s options to pick-up in store (free) or have the phone delivered to you (around $5 extra), and the site lists availability as shipping within 5-10 days.
A check of other retailers who have stocked the new range of Moto phones – JB Hifi, Dick Smith and Officeworks – has unfortunately drawn no results as yet – although you can still find the original available to purchase.
The other site which has placed the new Moto G up for order is Yatango (previously Mobicity), who are selling the new Moto G for $289.95 + Shipping. With Shipping, Yatango offer free shipping for Yatango Y Members, or if you want to check out as guest you can get it shipped for $19.95 for a standard courier or $29.95 for an express courier.
If you’re after a new Moto G, then head over to the GoodGuys or Yatango websites and place your order. We expect to have a new Moto G in hand for review shortly and after our experience with the first, we expect great things.
Whata are the sub models?
XT1068 is available in India on FlipKart for Rs 12999 (AU$230) with free local (India) delivery.
Specs say dual SIM but 3G band only shows 2100. (on Flipkart).
So is this a different model to what TGG have?

in India report ordering it just past midnight and getting it by 3pm on the same day, and we have to pre-order, pay more, pay for delivery and still have to wait.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought it was exactly the same device with the same specs as in the same CPU, GPU, RAM and resolution but just a bigger physical screen and slightly better camera right? Anything else better spec like NFC or wireless charging?
Front-facing speakers? Or did that turn out to just be the earpiece for calls on top like the new Moto X?
the little promo movie that was released looked like it had stereo front facing speakers.
