Vodafone recently announced that they had entered into a partnership with music streaming service: Spotify. While no specifics were mentioned it seems that the partnership has born fruit with a new deal being offered on the Vodafone branded ‘Smart 4 Mini’ phone. The deal offers the Smart 4 Mini, a Premium Spotify subscription and 2GB of Data for just $69.
The Vodafone ‘Smart’ series of devices have been a bit of a huge success in the European market. But Vodafone has brought the Smart line to Australia to see what happens. Let’s be honest, spec wise, the Vodafone Smart 4 Mini 3G isn’t anything special, but when the Data, Subscription and phone is taken into consideration, it’s not bad.
The full list of specs include:
- 4.0″ WVGA TFT Display (480 x 800)
- 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 Dual-core Mediatek MT6572 CPU
- Mali-400 GPU
- 512 MB RAM
- 4GB Storage, expandable to 32GB via mircoSD
- 3.15 MP rear camera only
- Radios:
- 2G: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
- 3G: 900 / 2100
- Android 4.2.2
- WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS
- 121.6 x 64.4 x 12.3 mm @ 117g
The main selling point of course if the free 3 month premium subscription to Spotify – normally worth $12 per month. Throw in the 2GB of data and free $40 vodafone pre-paid cap and $69 is a steal.
If you are interesting in finding more out about this deal, you can head over to the Vodafone Pre-Paid section of the website, visit your local Vodafone store or call the Vodafone helpline on 1300 650 410.
until they do like the telstra partnership with mog and make it unmetered, nobodies gonna care
Reading the T&Cs it says: “You will consume data from your recharge by downloading the Spotify App and/or accessing content from Spotify.” I was expecting unmetered access.
A steal? Is this an editorial or advertorial?
Not enough for me to move …
Is that it? That’s the exciting Spotify announcement? Buy this pretty ordinary phone and get free Spotify for 3 months? Major meh!
