The LG G3 has been a massively successful product for LG, it’s one of the best phones we’ve reviewed this year. It’s a very well designed phone, so it’s no wonder that they’ve been making variants and one of those was released as the LG G3 Beat back in July. At the time, LG announced the phone for the Korean and European markets, but it appears LG has now brought the phone to Australia, with the phone showing up on the LG Website with an RRP of $399.
According to the LG website, the phone will be available in Black and Gold, with Officeworks apparently already listing the phone in their system but for $426. The phone will also be available from The Good Guys, Bing Lee, Southern Phones and AllPhones.
The G3 Beat is a cut down version of the G3, which LG says is a ‘Second Generation Variant of G Series Flagship Offers the Best of G3’s Features, Functions and Consumer Benefits’. Though it’s got lower end specs, what it does have is the same great design with minimal . The camera has taken a hit on the sensor, going from 13MP on the G3 down to 8MP on the G3 Beat, but it should still take quite a decent picture with the phone using the same Laser Auto-focus system as the full version G3.

Software wise, the G3 skin is pretty good, with one of the best OEM produced keyboards we’ve seen yet, as well as my personal favourite LG app: Quick Memo. The G3 Beat also comes with Knock Code security, and Touch and Shoot for the camera, which lets you touch anywhere on the screen to capture an image. The flagship G3 is already receiving a lollipop update, so we’re hopeful that the G3 Beat could also at some stage in the future, but so far nothing has been announced by LG.

I got this phone recently. The system data is taking up 4gb of the 8gb storage. What is this and can i do anything about it because ive moved as much as i can to a SD card but i have hardly any internal space now
Quite similar to the Moto G 2nd gen except more expensive.
No bargain here.

This LG is a device from July, running a version of Android 2 point releases and 1 major release behind current.
So it’s not a new device, it’s just a sort of recent device that’s ‘New For Australia’.
The LG 4.4.2 includes all the security updates of 4.4.4 according to LG so there’s no actual reason to go to 4.4.4. As for the full release behind, that’s a bit rough considering Lollipop has only just been pushed, also remember that the full G3 is getting lollipop this week so probably will come to the Beat quite soon.
I was tossing up between the LG and the Motorola, they were the same price, $250 and i went with the LG for 2 main reasons. 1. The LG has a removable battery and 2. Its 4G
Can confirm these are already in stores at Officeworks, We got them in Wednesday.
We got the gimped version of the G3 to start with.
Now LG are saying we should buy an even more gimped version of the G3.
LG needs to grow a brain and give is the Full Version of the G3.
