A little over a year ago, HTC announced the entry level Desire 310 and it seems they’re continuing the 300 line, announcing the Desire 320 at CES overnight.
From viewing specs alone, it’s easy to see that the Desire 320 is purely an entry level device. So rather than specs, the price-point will be the key with this phone on whichever carrier it launches on. That said they are still some decent specs, which include :
- 4.5″ FWVGA Display (480 x 854)
- Quad-core 1.3GHz processor
- 512MB or 1GB RAM (region dependent)
- 4GB or 8GB Memory (region dependent), expandable to 32GB via MicroSD card
- 5MP rear camera, VGA front facing
- Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS
- Android 4.4 (Kit Kat)
- Dimensions: 132 x 67.8 x 10.5 mm @145 g
- 2,100mAh Li-Po battery
The company hasn’t announced which bands will be supported on the Desire 320, however looking over at HTC’s Canadian website, which already has the Desire 320 listed, the 2G/2.5G radios range from 850/900/1800/1900 MHz whilst the 3G radio antenna will recognise the 850/1900 MHz frequencies.
At this entry level, LTE isn’t expected (and isn’t being delivered), but all three Australian carriers still offer 3G only handsets. Vodafone was the driving force behind the Desire 310 in Australia so they may followup with the 320 if HTC decides to bring it down under.
No announcements have been made on Australian availability for the Desire 310, so keep an eye out.
