With Samsung and HTC both inviting press to events at Mobile World Congress, the next manufacturer who has traditionally announced devices at MWC is Sony. While no press have been invited as yet, sources have apparently told Italian site hdblog that the 2nd of March could be the day.
Mobile World Congress runs from the 2nd till the 5th of March, with announcements from manufacturers of devices and releases being made around or during the event. Sony is hotly rumoured to release a Snapdragon 810 powered Z4, although there is some speculation that they will skip an announcement at MWC.
The Z4 sounds like a high end device from rumours circulating which include the Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 5.5″ display with options for either FHD (1920×1080) or QHD (2560×1440) resolutions.
With MWC looming in under a month, invites should head out soon so stay tuned.
I didn’t realise Sony had any staff left to send to MWC?
Will be interesting to see if they release a Z4 Compact. The Z3C hits a good niche IMO.
I’d be more interested in non-Z4 machines.
A new Ultra, or Camera Xperia.
Something cool and crazy.
It seems like this will be the only flagship from Sony this year. Smart move. I’m not sure we need 4GB of RAM in our phones, but thankfully we’re not forced onto a higher resolution screen that would drain the battery. 5.5″ would be okay if there are no bezels like the G3. However the 5.5″ OPO was too big for me.
