After a protracted wait, Dell has brought their first Chromebook to the Australian market, launching the Dell Chromebook 11 on their Australian Business site.
The Dell Chromebook 11 is a versatile machine with a fairly decent spec, although the 11.6″ LCD display still has a disappointing 1366×768 resolution. Nevertheless, the Chromebook 11 is powered by 4th Generation 1.4GHz Intel Celeron 2955u Processor with a hefty 4GB of DDR3L RAM to back it up. Storage wise there’s a 16GB SATA SSD + an SD Card slot.
There’s a number of ports on-board, with 2x USB 3.0 ports, as well as an HDMI output to connect to an external display. In terms of networking the Chromebook 11 comes with a Dell DW1901 (Atheros) WiFi A/B/G/N, as well as an Integrated Ethernet 10/100/1000 port and Bluetooth support. The Chromebook 11 has a 4W Internal Stereo Speaker (Min 2W x 2) and 3.5mm headphone jack for any audio needs you may throw at it.
With the Chromebook 11 featuring on their business site, Dell has ensured that the Chromebook 11 will give all day battery life. Indeed the Haswell based Celeron 2955U will give up to 10 hours of power from the 51WHr Battery.
Dell is selling the Chromebook 11 on their website for $369 including delivery, with estimated delivery time around 2-3 Business Days for most Australian cities. If you’re interested in grabbing a Dell Chromebook 11 head on over to the website and check it out.
Thankfully they are only shipping the 4GB version!!
Yes, so many times this. I’m really disappointed for example with Toshiba only releasing their 2GB model in Australia.
