Samsung has been partnered with the Marvel universe for some time, and while we won’t be seeing Avengers themed versions of the Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 Edge phones, we may be seeing accessories for the phones.
According to Business Korea, Samsung vice president of design Lee Min-hyuk said at a Galaxy S6 World Tour event in Seoul that : ‘Following the Avengers open theme, consumers now can enjoy Avengers-edition accessories based on various characters in the film’
Samsung is intending to bring customisable themes to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in an update shortly and it appears that these themes will probably include the Avengers. With the Avengers: Age of Ultron opening in theatres in the next few weeks around the world, it would tie-in quite nicely with the global rollout of the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge handsets.
Along with releasing their own accessories, Samsung is currently working with a number of third-party accessory manufacturers such as Britto, Burton, Kate Spade, Swarovski, Mont Blanc and more to release high-end cases and accoutrements for the handsets.
We’ll know more in the coming weeks as Samsung ramps up the announcements. But for now, let’s just sit back and think about how good these Avengers themed Galaxy S6/S6 Edge concepts look:
