One of the biggest criticisms of the Google Chromecast has been the lack of hardwired network connections for people in high-density Wi-Fi areas. Google has today addressed that, by releasing an Ethernet adapter onto the Google Store.
For a surprisingly low US$15 cost, the adapter should take care of any spotty Wi-Fi reception areas around your home. The setup for the ethernet adapter is quite simple:
While the adapter has been limited for sale in the US, it looks as though even they can’t get hold of it, with the adapter currently listed as out of stock.
An Ethernet to microUSB adapter is such a great idea, it’s probably worth getting one of these to see if it will work on a Nexus Player as well. We’ll certainly be trying it out, with the help of a shipping forwarder, when they go back on-sale.
Should be a single thing. A Chromecast for $20 more that has an Ethernet port.
