Google Labs
Google Creative Labs, the team within Google that based on the apps they’ve released this morning is apparently in charge of the more fanciful side of things. The apps that have come previously have had a Chromecast focus, but today we get some interesting ones: Tunnel Vision, Landmarker and Lip Swap.

Tunnel Vision
Is an interesting app which lets you record and apply some quite ‘trippy’ filters to your videos, the filters seem to rely on the accelerometer in your phone to create some of the effects. The official description says

Distort time and space by recording your surroundings through a collection of transformative filters. Each filter can be pinched or panned to alter your perception.

Landmarker
Landmarker seems to be some sort of offshoot of the Niantic Labs Field Trip app, though scaled down to a simplified text based app. The app lets you move your phone around to see what’s around you. Or according to the official description:

Landmarker turns your orientation into an interface, revealing key destinations around you. Click each result locate on Google Maps.

Unfortunately, whether I`m just in a boring location or it’s just not working in Australia, I kept getting an error saying ‘There are no places near you – Please try again later’.

Lip Swap
Ever wanted to put words in someone’s mouth? Well with Lip Swap it seems you virtually can. The app lets you bring your face or lips to other people’s faces. The app lets you snap a photo or use one from your gallery, then swipe a section of the photo you want to replace and then record video with your own – lips, face etc. – in place. Unfortunately, it kept crashing for me, but try it out.
