Rumor: Images of a new LG V10 phone leak out

An interesting device has recently passed through Tenaa, China’s telecommunication equipment certification centre. The LG V10 comes to us courtesy of veteran – and semi-retired – leaker Evan Blass of @Evleaks fame. Despite Evan’s history of quality leaks, we always suggest having some quality salt ready. Whilst details are sparse, the following is anticipated in the unexpected device: a secondary ‘ticker’ display – more on that below, LG’s signature rear power and volume buttons, 5.7″ QHD display, a fingerprint scanner incorporated into the rear power button, Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, 16MP rear and 5MP front-facing camera and a microSD card slot.

The second ‘ticker’ display is rumoured to be located above the primary display to the right of the front facing camera module, see the header image above. Such a display could be used for a variety of functions both when the primary screen is powered on and off. Time will tell if LG is able to finally make these second displays compelling for real world use, assuming the device materialises at all.

The specs of this device certainly make it look like a slightly supped up version of their current LG flagship the LG G4. No details regarding international availability or cost are yet available however, Evan suggests the device will launch in October this year, so if it does materialise we won’t have long to wait.
